Qatar is a peninsula located in the middle of the western coast of the Arabian Gulf with an area of 11,525 square km, with a population of approximately 2.7 million. Qatar is currently experiencing an unprecedented economic boom under the leadership of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, as the country continues its efforts to implement its policies of diversifying its sources of income, developing the infrastructure of the economy and taking full advantage of its natural resources, which depend on oil, gas and petrochemicals, in addition to liberalizing the economy and activating the role of the private sector and issuing laws to facilitate and streamline investment procedures and attract foreign investments. The State has continued to implement policies to rationalize public spending and increase non-oil revenue sources. Thanks to these efforts, the economy has achieved real growth in recent years, so that it became one of the most developed economies in the region, and Qatar has become one of the richest countries in the world in terms of GDP per capita.
